SPlayer - small in size, rich in features

Behold, it's SPlayer (?)

I've been using Media Player Classic (with K-Lite Codec Pack) to watch anime in my netbook, even though I do not really like the interface of MPC (sooo classic), there's no other options but to use it as my media player, there's another alternative for MPC though, such as VLC but I'm having problem when I use VLC to watch anime in my Netbook , it's so laggy.. I don't know why. So, recently I found this media player when I was googling the net trying to find another alternative for MPC, it's called SPlayer, the first time I saw its interface  at the website, I have a feeling that this is a nice media player, the interface is better than Media Player Classic and VLC..

And so I give it a try and downloaded it, another thing that is shocking me is that the media player size is only ~5 Megabyte, much smaller than VLC (~20Mb) and MPC (~15Mb + K-Lite Codec Pack).

The Player also has complete Format Playback for Videos and Audios : (there's a lot of them)

Aside from Video and Audio Playback, the player also support Subtitle file:
  • .srt
  • .idx
  • .sub
  • .ssa
  • .ass
  • .xss
  • .usf

Loading Subtitles...

Yeap, you can load subtitles that you downloaded from the net to the video that you're watching. You can customize the font face, font size, and positions of the subtitle.

2nd subtitle support

The player support loading 2 subtitle at once… (maybe chinese subtitle at the top of the screen and english subtitle at the bottom of the screen). But that's not all, the player can automatically download subtitle from shooter.cn (but I doubt it has support for anime subtitle. lol). You can also adjust the subtitle delay, increasing or decreasing the subtitle delay.

Capture Feature on SPlayer

The player also has the 'Capture' feature, where you could directly take a screenshot and save it to computer or directly copy to clipboard (CTRL+C).. Aside from that there's' Capture Thumbnails', where the player will take a random screenshot throughout the video and save it as single image file, here's an example:

There's still a lot of other features that the player has, but I guess it would be better if you just try it for yourself…

Download SPlayer at their  website:

One last thing, it also has a portable version..  (~10Mb) and I'm currently using the portable version...

I guess it's bye-bye to K-Lite Codec Pack and Media Player Classic
