Use Lastpass to store your password

There're many password manager that you can use to store passwords, such as KeePass. But me myself, I prefer to use Lastpass since it's integrated with multi Browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome. Aside from the browser integration feature, Lastpass store its password online, that way you can access your password database anytime anywhere via their webpage (as long as you're connected to the internet). There're many other features that is useful. Auto fill, Auto login, etc.

Now all I need is to remember is my Lastpass password. Let Lastpass handle your other sites password.

Username and Password in Windows XP are very important, it make sure no one can’t use your pc. But what if you’re the only one who use the PC.. Typing username and password everytime can be annoying.. Well, you can make it login automatically without needing to type your username and password.

It’s very simple to make automatic login. All you need to do is open “User Account”. Start → Run. then type:
control userpasswords2
a new window will appear (Users Account). In ‘Users’ Tab, you’ll see a checked box ‘Users must enter a username and password to use this computer’. Uncheck it! Then Click “Ok”. A small window will appear asking you to specify a user that will be automatically logged on. Type in the username and Password, then click ‘Ok’. That’s it!

'Open in Notepad' for Unknown File Format in Windows

Sometimes, if you try to open a file with unknown file format in window, it will ask you to choose the program that you want to use to open that file. Most likely, we will use Notepad to open this files, that’s why it would be better if we set Notepad as a standard application to open this files.
It’s rather easy..

1. First, open Registry Editor, Start > Run > and then type:
regedit
2. Change your directory to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Classes | Unknown | Shell

3. Right Click in the Window on the left and choose New > Key, make a new key named ‘Open in Notepad‘

4. Then change your directory to your newly created key ‘Open in Notepad’ and double click the ‘Default’ entry to edit its value. In Value Data, type:
Open in Notepad
5. Right click the ‘Open in Notepad’ ket on the left window and select New > Key, make another new key named ‘command‘

6. Change your directory to ‘command’ key, and double click the ‘Default’ entry to edit its value. In Value Data, type:
Notepad.exe %1
7. That’s it, close your registry editor and restart your PC.

Now if you want to open an unknown file format using Notepad, all you need to do is right click on it and select ‘Open in Notepad’.

FN Key won't work on Windows 7 Ultimate - eeePC 1005HA

It's been a day since I use Windows 7 Ultimate.. So far there was no prob at all... Until I wanted to connect to my Home Network.. I press the 'FN + F2' button on my eeePC to turn on the wireless device... Because of that I realize that the FN key and EEE Super Hybrid Engine won't work (FN + Space key) on windows 7 Ultimate..

So, I use my other PC to make some research on how to get the FN key working on my eeePC... I found out some references here:
- darrenpopham | http://www.darrenpopham.com/?p=437
- EeeUser Forum | http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?pid=653768

Both of the Guides above suggest that I have to Update my BIOS version to a higher or a lower version, v1102 or v0703. But I did not follow those instructions coz I'm afraid that my eeePC will be bricked (I absolutely do not want that to happen). So I try to find another references... But I came out with no luck...

So what I did was open up ASUS Support site, go to the Download page for my eeePC under Windows 7 OS...

Then I was shown with a list of Drivers for my eeePC... And I found out a utility/tools to get my 'FN' key working... It was under 'ATK' sections:

I downloaded and installed it right away... And viola, my 'FN' key now work like a charm on Windows 7 :D

Aside from the 'FN' key, the functions in Touchpad are are also not working (Zoom In/Out, Rotate, Page Up/Down, and Easy Scrolling Functions). But don't worry, just download the 'TouchPad' Driver and install it....

That's it~ No need to downgrade or upgrade the BIOS version.. Just need to install that Hot Key Utility and TouchPad driver...

Reduce Online Games Ping or Latency on Windows 7

As the title said, this guide was meant to reduce online game ping or latency on windows 7.  Some people said that by using this method they were able to get a lower ping or latency, while some said that this method is not working... Nevertheless it's worth trying, who know that this method may worked out for you.

Open up 'regedit' through windows 'run' box (Windows Key + R), then go to the following directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\
There you'll see multiple Network Interface Controller with long names (ex. {DBEB5ACE-70FC-4039-913F-FD757053A5A0} ). Look for the one with many configuration and your IP address on it. Right click and create new 'DWORD value'.

Named it as 'TcpAckFrequency'. Double click on it and set the value data to '1'.

Close the regedit and open up the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Then click on the 'Turn Windows Features on or off'. A small window will pop out... Look for 'Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) Server', tick the box beside it and click the 'OK' button... Wait for it to finish installing and restart your computer...

After you've restarted your computer, open up the 'regedit' again. This time go to the following directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters
Create a new 'DWORD value' there and named it as 'TCPNoDelay'. Double click on it and set the value data to '1'. Close the regedit and restart your PC again...

Well, that's it... Hope it worked out for you (^o^)/
